SomapaIT, a leading provider of advanced border management and digital government solutions, is pleased to announce its successful participation in the Digital Government Africa 2025 conference held in Lusaka, Zambia. The event once again brought together senior government representatives, policymakers, and technology leaders from across the continent, creating a valuable platform for collaboration on Africa’s digital transformation journey.

Building on the success of its 2024 participation, SomapaIT showcased its latest innovations in Smart Border Solutions, designed through collaborative engagement with governments to address their specific needs and priorities. The company’s modular and scalable systems, delivered through a unique zero-investment model, continue to enable nations of all sizes to modernise their border management infrastructure efficiently and sustainably.

Reflecting on the event, SomapaIT’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Subhaprasert Wongsuwan, described this year’s participation as a success. “Digital Government Africa 2025 has been an exceptional experience for SomapaIT,” he said. “It was inspiring to engage with new countries we had not spoken to before, while also continuing meaningful discussions with governments we have worked alongside in recent years. This conference reaffirmed the growing demand across the continent for collaborative, forward-thinking digital solutions that address real national challenges.”

Mr. Wongsuwan also referenced the opening address by His Excellency Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, President of the Republic of Zambia, who called on digital providers to bring the very best innovations to Africa. “President Hichilema’s message aligns perfectly with our vision,” he said. “Through our collaborative design processes, modular Smart Border Solutions, and zero-investment models, SomapaIT is doing exactly that—partnering with governments to deliver world-class, sustainable systems that strengthen national security and operational efficiency.”

SomapaIT was also pleased to welcome Mrs. Wichuda Akaramethathip, Minister (Commercial), and Ms. Mueanfun Robkob, Minister Counsellor, from the Royal Thai Embassy in South Africa, who attended the conference. Their participation was part of a broader engagement to observe the unique format of the Digital Government Africa event, which brings together multiple governments and private sector innovators under one collaborative framework. SomapaIT recognises and appreciates this interest, which aligns with the company’s ongoing global development agenda under its “Breaking Through the Global” strategy—an initiative aimed at sharing experiences and fostering cross-regional collaboration in digital governance and border innovation.

SomapaIT’s participation in Digital Government Africa 2025 underscores its commitment to supporting African nations in achieving secure, efficient, and citizen-focused border ecosystems. By empowering governments with full ownership of their data and enhancing inter-agency coordination, SomapaIT continues to contribute to the continent’s broader goals of digital transformation and regional integration.

The company extends its sincere appreciation to His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema and the Government of Zambia for their leadership and hospitality in hosting this influential event. SomapaIT looks forward to building on the positive engagements established during the conference and to continuing its mission of delivering innovative and sustainable digital solutions that advance Africa’s development agenda.
